Principal's Message

Welcome to Week 7,
Our students were very fortunate this week to have been invited to attend the School Performance Tours BMX Show with Tallangatta Primary School.
This show, linked to the Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PD/H/PE) curriculum regarding problem-solving and creative thinking showcased values of persistence, determination and resilience. The event reinforced our current work with the Resilience Project for student wellbeing.
The story was based on a father of two named Scott Hone, a BMX rider, juggler, acrobat, clown, photographer and teacher who started his performing career with Circus Oz and has gone on to perform at countless festivals around Australia and the world.
Scott led students on a lifetime adventure made of dreams. Almost everybody has ridden a bike but no one rides a bike like Scott:
Backwards on the front wheel. Frontwards on the back wheel. Frontwards on the front wheel, backwards and upside-down.
Scott told the story of his first bike all the way to joining the circus, demonstrating how thinking outside the box and trying new things can lead you on a grand adventure through life.
The BMX show about self-discovery was designed to encourage students on their own life journey, to have a “can do and what if I” attitude to approaching and questioning challenges. The key themes of practice, perseverance and determination are helpful tools the students could take away and use in their daily lives at school or at home.

Term 2 COVID-19 Provisions
Please see attached a document and visual graphic outlining school COVID-19 provisions for the remainder of Term 2 commencing Monday 30th May 2022.

PAM - Absences
We understand that it has been a challenging time with COVID-19 throughout Term 2. As such this has caused unforeseeable illness and inability to attend school. However, it still remains a parental responsibility to ensure you are informing the office of your child's absences and the reason for the absence. St Michael's will be following up on unexplained absences for this semester and liaising with necessary parents around low school attendance rates. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
